Air CleaningReimagined

Same space. New function.

Advertising catches our attention. Art changes how a space feels. What if those same surfaces could also help clean the air?

air.cleaning combines printable mesh with specially designed Electerial™ sheets, being developed to attract and retain fine and ultrafine airborne particles. Your advertising. Your artwork. A new purpose. No electricity required for particle capture.

Concept visualisation. Not a real installation.

01  /  Transport

A new role for every advertising space.

Inside carriages. Across platforms. Throughout terminals. Advertising space is already part of the journey. We’re developing a way to give it a second role: capturing airborne particles.

A new opportunity for transport operators, advertising networks and the people who use their spaces.

Concept visualisation. Not a real installation.

02  /  General advertising

Advertising that does more.

A campaign can make someone stop, think or buy. Imagine if the surface carrying it could also help clean the air.

From coffee shops to shopping centres, air.cleaning brings a new purpose to indoor advertising, connecting visual impact with particle capture.

Concept visualisation. Not a real installation.

03  /  Air cleaning art

Air purification, reimagined as art.

Imagine choosing an artwork for how it looks, and what it could do.

Above a hotel bed. Across a reception wall. In the rooms where we live, work and unwind.

We’re developing air cleaning art that brings passive particle capture into the picture, with no electricity required for capture.

Illustrative concept animation. Particles and field not to scale.

How it works

The science behind the surface.

Printed artwork or advertising sits on an open mesh surface, with replaceable Electerial™ sheets behind it.

The sheets hold an electrostatic charge, designed to attract and retain fine and ultrafine particles carried by indoor air, without an electricity supply.

The concept is designed for routine vacuum cleaning and sheet replacement. Target sheet service life: 12–24 months, subject to testing and validation.

Art chosen for how it looks, and what it could do.

Same space. New function.

Every advert. Every artwork. Every space we already use to communicate.

Indoor air can be more polluted than outdoor air. Tackling it means finding new ways to clean the spaces we already use.

Electerial™ development

The development behind the idea.

Behind the printed mesh sits a replaceable Electerial™ capture sheet.

Our development programme is investigating particle capture, charge retention and performance under realistic conditions, alongside practical cleaning and replacement.

The target is a sheet life of 12–24 months, with routine vacuum cleaning. Service life and maintenance requirements will be confirmed through testing.

Development status: in development, not yet available. Performance has not yet been validated. Images and film are concept visualisations, not real installations.

Research call

Help develop the next generation of Electerial™ products.

We’re inviting universities, research institutions, materials scientists and product-development partners to help shape a family of Electerial™ products. Collaborate with us on electret materials, charge retention, particle capture, cleaning and durability, and the integration of capture sheets into different products and environments.
